Entertainment: The Difference Between Buyer's and Seller's Agents

Buying entertainment for a meeting is something anybody with money to spend and access to the internet can do. Need a keynote? A name talent? A host/emcee? An opening performance? A trio for your reception? Great! Just enter the topic and price range, and at least ten options are instantaneously at your fingertips. You then contact the agent, give them the specifics of the event and, if the talent is available, a contract arrives in the mail. If you've done this before enough times, you might even ask if the talent would do a travel buy-out. You even might put in an offer lower than the asking price to see if you could work a deal. You sign the contract, supply the rider requirements, arrange travel, transportation and room(s) for the talent and wait for him or her to show up at the event.

An FTP site is an easy alternative to slower, costly overnight shipment of files and printed assets.
